Extreme Snowboarding

Extreme snowboarding is a form of snowboarding which occurs in extreme environments where the terrain is unpredictable and often unchartered.  Typically, the terrain includes features such as cliffs and deep snow within the mountainous snow fields.

Extreme snowboarding ususally occurs in mountainous regions where the gradient of the slope is greater than 35 degrees.  Some of the most popular include Mont Fort backside in Verbier, Suisse with its 1600 m drop and the Pas de Chèvre en Aiguille des Grands Montets, Chamonix, France with its 1500 m vertical drop.
